ACAC´s Physician Referred Exercise Program (PREP) allows doctors to write a prescription for exercise to give to their patients. ACAC "fills the prescription" by working with a patient´s doctor to create an exercise program tailored to their specific needs.
Current medical programs available include the following.
General Physicians Referred Exercise Program
ACAC team of fitness specialists, through the referral of a participant´s physician, will create a customized exercise program with based on an individual´s medical needs and goals. Patients referred by their physician meet with an ACAC fitness specialist for 30 minutes twice a week for 60 days, and enjoy full use of ACAC's fitness offerings. ACAC keeps the patient's doctor abreast of the progress made. A patient´s investment is only $1 per day for 60 days or $60.
Diabetes Physicians Referred Exercise Program
Diabetes Management Track
This program offers all of the components of our General Health Track with an added emphasis on cardiovascular exercise in accordance with American College of Sports Medicine guidelines, to meet the specific needs of a diabetic participant. Blood pressure and blood sugar are monitored regularly throughout the program.

To ensure success, we ask that you invest only two, 30-minute workout sessions each week.

Simply have your physician complete a referral form and fax it to ACAC. An ACAC team member will contact you within 48 hours and get you on the path to achieving a healthier, more active lifestyle. Now is the time!

Cancer Well Fit Program
Cancer WellFitTM is a nationally recognized, 10-week supervised exercise program for people who are battling cancer. Cancer WellFitTM was started in 1993 by a breast cancer survivor who wanted to share her first-hand knowledge of the positive impact of exercise on cancer rehabilitation. This program is specifically for those who are currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other treatments for a cancer diagnosis. A patient´s investment is only $1 per day for 70 days or $70.
Multiple Sclerosis
Feelin´ Fit with MS is a group that offers persons with Multiple Sclerosis the opportunity to participate in aquatic and land exercise. Enjoy socializing with classmates while improving fitness. Sponsored by the Greater Delaware Chapter of the MS Society, participants must attend class 6 times or more per month for this free program. To register, please e-mail idal@acacwc.com.
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Programs
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class
This land-based class - designed for persons with arthritis, gently guide individuals through ROM, strengthening, and toning, using more than 70 exercises designed by the Arthritis Foundation. Our classes offer a small group setting. Seated and standing exercises may incorporate weights and bands.
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
A recreational series of gentle exercises in the pool that help relieve pain and stiffness caused by arthritis. Non-swimmers welcome.
